Businesses across the City River Partnership  have voted to establish the City of London’s 6th Business Improvement District.

 

Of those local businesses that voted, 72.5% voted yes at the ballot, representing 64.2% by rateable value, a powerful endorsement of the vision set out by the Partnership board and a clear vote of confidence in the future of this extraordinary riverside area.

 

The City River BID will now formally begin its first five-year term, unlocking more than £7 million of private sector investment to support transformational projects across the stretch of riverside from Tower Hill to The Temple.

 

This investment will help reconnect the City to the Thames, creating a greener, safer and more vibrant riverside that reflects the area’s history, supports its future and works better for everyone who lives, works and visits.

 

It will also place the local business community at the heart of shaping the area’s future, enabling close partnership working with the City of London Corporation, neighbouring BIDs, cultural institutions, hospitality operators, charities and local stakeholders.
